Picture this. It’s my day off, and I’ve had the chance to sit down and finish the very last physical book I own that I haven’t read. So now what? Time to get through all the kindle books I purchased years ago and abandoned! However, since purchasing most of these books my reading taste has changed, or more so I’ve had the chance to truly discover the type of books I enjoy reading. With that being said, I’m finally going to do the unhaul I’ve been planning to do for far too long.
*This goes without saying, but the books I choose to unhaul probably have nothing wrong with them, I just don’t think they’d be what I’d enjoy reading at this point.*
First off, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I remember reading the sampler and wanting to give it a try, and then never getting round to it. Coming back to it today, I don’t think me and this book would be an ideal match.
Next up I’m unhauling Mother, Mother by Koren Zailckas, which as it turns out isn’t even on my Goodreads list. Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel isn’t either, which is another I’m unhauling. I don’t recall sampling this book, though I must’ve at some point. Browsing through it I don’t think I’d be a fan of how the book is written. Oasis by Dima Zales was added to my Want to Read in September 2016, but is leaving it today.
Now for the serious sorting through to begin.
You Sent Me a Letter by Lucy Dawson is being unhauled. Another that wasn’t even on my Goodreads. The Museum of Extraordinary Things by Alice Hoffman, With Malice by Eileen Cook, Grievance by Christine Bell, The Trap by Melanie Raabe, Secondborn by Amy A. Bartol are also going.
All The Little Children by Jo Furniss, Frostblood by Elly Blake, The Child by Fiona Barton, Bellamy and the Brute by Alicia Micheals, Extinct by Ike Hamill, The Birthday Girl by Sue Fortin, Smart by Kim Slater, The Intruder by P.S. Hogan, An Unfamiliar Murder by Jane Isaac, Only She Sees by Manel Loureiro, Lock the Door by Jane Holland, Ragdoll by Daniel Cole, Friend Request by Laura Marshall, Sara’s Game by Ernie Lindsey, Wrecked by Elle Casey.
Hell’s Princess by Harold Schechter, A Nest of Nightmares by Lisa Tuttle, The Missing Twin by Alex Day, The Man Who Would Be Jack by David Bullock, Everything You Told Me by Lucy Dawson, Abducted by T.R. Ragan, Strawberries by Casey Bartsch, Among Wolves by R.A. Hakok, The Eleventh Floor by Shani Struthers, The Last Librarian by Brandt Legg.
Panic Button by Charlie Gallagher, The House Swap by Rebecca Fleet. The final two books of this long overdue unhaul.
So that’s a whopping 37 books.
Leaving me with 53 books currently on my kindle that I want to read. I’ll consider this a success!
