Let’s Talk: Tackling My Physical TBR

I consider myself to be a minimalist, but if you saw my physical TBR you would think otherwise. It makes me think otherwise. And of course, it just keeps growing. So I’m officially making it my mission to reduce its size. I tried a book buying ban, but when I stumble across books under £1 that look good, I can’t help myself, and sometimes I just can’t resist buying a new book (or plenty) from a bookshop. I’m going to read these books!!! I will!

Disclaimer: I’m not actually going to start reading these books until June, and I’m sure many people have a bigger physical TBR than I do however I have ran out of space for both new books and non-bookish things that I already own.

I’ve compiled a small selection of books that I plan on reading first from my physical TBR, for reasons I will list in a moment. I currently have 44 unread physical books. So let’s get started!

  • The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

This book has been on my TBR for the longest amount of time. I purchased this book having really enjoyed the film, but my excitement just died and I haven’t got round to it since.

  • The Martian by Andy Weir

Again, I purchased this because I loved the film (though it is quite lengthy!). I tried reading it once but kept getting distracted but I do really want to read it still.

  • The Lucky Ones by Mark Edwards

I love Mark Edwards’ books. Love em. So much so I read 5 of them within 8 days a while back. However when The Lucky Ones was released my TBR was so big and I just haven’t got round to it yet!

  • The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

I don’t have any excuse for not yet reading this one, it has been on my TBR for what feels like forever so I need to read it soon!

I hope you all enjoyed this post, I’m going to keep you updated on tackling my physical TBR! What books have you had on your TBR for the longest?

Georgia 🙂

  1. I really want to see The 5th Wave, because I like the Chloë Moretz, but I don’t remember the book too fondly. And I honestly feel like my TBR is full of books that have slowly been gathering dust. :’)

Good luck with your TBRs, Georgia! I hope you get around to reading them soon. 🙂

    1. I have the same problem. I have so MANY physical unread books. My TBR pile is ridiculous. The books you’ve chosen to read all look good. I’ve read The Fifth Wave and it was pretty good. I hope you enjoy your enjoy your books!

  3. I loved The Martian film but wasn’t a huge fan of the book. It’s still a fun, surprisingly light read for the themes that it grapples with. I hope you have a better time with it than I did!
