Jan 1st – March 31st

Hello everyone! Today’s post is going to be my favourite books I read within the past few months. I started off the year in an awful book slump that felt like it was going to last for ever, but luckily I got through it.

So, let’s dive right in!

The first book I read this year, which I read twice it was that good, was Keep Going by Cara Compass. This is a truly wonderful story about a family reacting to the news of the upcoming apocalypse and their effort to complete a Bucket List. This was actually a Kickstarter that I backed in May last year! You can only imagine how excited I was when it was finally released into the world. This was actually the first book I put effort into reviewing! Check it out here.

After that, I re-read The Call by Peadar Ó Guilín, so I could remind myself of the amazing world he created, before tucking into and completely devouring The Invasion. Though I want more of the Grey Land, I think this book was a brilliant wrap up to this duology. I read both of these books with such speed and focus that I felt fully immersed. I would absolutely not survive The Call, so props to those who did. I’m also going to mention that Peadar was kind enough to visit my local library late last year – what a fantastic storyteller he is! My review of The Call is here and my review of The Invasion is here.

The Space Between by Meg Grehan actually owns a piece of my heart. A beyond beautiful in-verse (umm, hello did someone mention MY WEAKNESS) story containing LGBT & mental illness representation. This book was just incredibly lovely and heartwarming. I could not, and did not want to, put it down. My immediate feels here.

Yep. We all know this one is coming. Of course, The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven. I still do not have the right words to express simply how much I adore this book. Even when I’d only heard (read) the synopsis, I knew this was going to be a favourite. If it was acceptable to lovingly throw a book at someone, I’d be throwing this book at everyone. This is a must read. Infact, this is a must read as soon as humanly possible. The Exact Opposite of Okay is a pure treasure and must be cherished. And in case you missed it, here’s my review of it.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that you now have some new books to add to your TBR! If you’ve read any of these, I would love to know your thoughts.

Have a great day! Georgia 🙂
